My husband & I had just gotten married and both started new jobs that gave us the ability to WFH full-time, so naturally we had the conversation of, "now what, baby or dog?" Welp, dog won. One day I came home to find my husband looking at available dogs at rescues in the area. Somehow we landed on Forever Yours rescue in PA through PetFinder. I told him we couldn't just pick a dog based on their picture, we have to GO there and meet the litter. We applied to adopt, sent our information and were approved in minutes. So we decided on a cold, rainy Monday night in March, to drive to the rescue and hopefully find our new best friend. We pulled up to the house only to be greeted by a litter of black and white puppies. When we started our search we knew we wanted a pitbull, full or not, it didn't matter and this litter didn't disappoint. The owner came out on the porch with the first 5 puppies. They were adorable, running around and jumping all over us. All of a sudden this little black and white pawed puppy came running out from underneath a chair and landed right in front of me. I was sitting on the ground trying to play with all of them, when she laid down and army crawled right into my lap. That was it. She picked us. She was all of 10 lbs and 3 months old. I knew right then and there she was meant to come home with us. Completely unprepared, we drove back to NJ with her sleeping in my lap and stopped at PetSmart right before they closed for food. Our little Luna is now almost 2 years old and the most lovable, funny, spoiled 60 lb baby who loves belly rubs from every person she meets, sitting on my lap and snuggling through thunderstorms. We wouldn't have it any other way.
